    The ensemble's mission is to bring high quality, live music to the community, supporting music in the schools and reaching diverse audiences of all ages.

  • Young Composer's Competition

    The Akron Symphonic Winds will once again sponsor a Young Composer's Competition. The rules are as follows: Composers under the age of 23 are called to submit a piece for Wind Ensemble under 8 minutes in length for: Flutes, Oboe, Clarinets, Saxes, French Horns, Trumpets, Trombones, Tuba and Percussion. The winning piece will be featured at our Art in the Park - Kent performance on Saturday, Sept. 10, 5pm,

    Fuller Park, Kent, Ohio.

    The composer will also be given a video recording of their performance.


    Submission fee is $10, Scores are due April 20. If you would like to submit a composition, please press the "Pay Now" button below and email your score, parts, and mp3 of your composition (digital is fine) to lmietus@yahoo.com
